Knee Arthroscopy

Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that has revolutionized the diagnosis and treatment of various knee joint conditions. Utilizing a specialized instrument called an arthroscope, which is a small, flexible tube equipped with a light and camera, orthopedic surgeons can visualize the interior of the knee without the need for large incisions. This procedure is commonly employed to investigate and address issues such as torn ligaments, damaged cartilage, or inflamed synovial tissue. During knee arthroscopy, small incisions are made, and the arthroscope is inserted, allowing the surgeon to examine the structures within the knee in real-time. Additionally, miniature surgical instruments may be introduced through additional incisions to repair or remove damaged tissue. Knee arthroscopy is preferred for its reduced postoperative pain, quicker recovery times, and lower risk of complications compared to traditional open surgeries. This technique has become a valuable tool in the field of orthopedics, enabling precise diagnosis and targeted treatment of a range of knee-related problems while minimizing disruption to the surrounding tissues.
